Trump's educational department has cut student loans to the following degrees:

  • Cosmetology

  • Massage Therapy/bodywork

  • Culinary arts

  • Medical/dental assisting

  • Religious studies

  • Social work/mental health counseling

  • Fine and studio arts

  • Music

  • Graphic design

  • English literature

  • Early childhood education

Nancy Pelosi on https://x.com/snopes/status/2105415648943738893 claims this was because these degrees "...don't pay off".

A post made on Twitter regarding the cuts of student loans

These degrees align with very important jobs here in the US that can make this world better and healthier. Without Medical and dental assistants, we will not get the medical or dental treatment we need. English literature, religious studies, music, and fine studio arts are all forms of expression that are claimed not to pay off. And the one that really hurts the most is the cutting of loans to counseling and psychology-related topics. After doing research, Google shows an 11% to 18% hiring rate for psychology majors. This can affect the world's overall mental health based on how many psychology majors are hired. If more psychology majors are hired, the overall health of our world will improve, and I believe Trump is truly contradicting himself by saying they don't pay off. Most Psychology jobs are anywhere between a $10,000-90,000 pay.

In conclusion, this can affect people's ability to express themselves, get the medical or dental treatment they need, and lead to a decline in mental health. This can also restrict the students' ability to get the money needed for their majors and dream schools.
