On October 1st and 2nd, clubs around campus participated in this year's Club Rush, where students from various clubs set up tables and posters to showcase their clubs to students. This offers an opportunity for students to check out clubs spanning various interests and topics, see what they participate in, and learn about the benefits of joining. Clubs that participated in Club Rush include Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Club, Multicultural Club, Black Student Union (BSU), Animal Environmental Club, Social Emotional Impactful Association (SEIA), SOAR Robotics, Bible Club, Associated Student Body (ASB), Class of 2027, and Class of 2028.

Club rush brought together a lot of students, and students across campus got to see a glimpse of an array of clubs, especially clubs with academic, cultural, creative, recreational, or other interests. This encourages students to explore both interests they may already have or discover new ones and meet new people outside of their usual circle along the way. Let's hear some voices from some of our clubs on campus and what they do!

Katelynn Brigham is the Vice President of D&D Club, representing them during Club Rush. During Club meetings and get-togethers, they create new stories and play Dungeons and Dragons. Brigham says that this club teaches students creativity, encourages socializing, and helps students get out of their shells. She says that while this club is still new on campus, they want to host events for students in the future, to play and have a nice time together!

Ruby Ramirez is the Club President of Multicultural Club, representing them during Club Rush. Ramirez says that they explore and support different cultures, want to take field trips, and create an inclusive environment for all. She says that an important thing the club does is educate people about the many different cultures that encompass many different people, especially the cultures of students that make up our campus.

Vania Manjikian is the Treasurer of Bible Club, representing them during Club Rush. Manjikian says that this club focuses on learning about the Bible and that they meet every other week to discuss different Bible verses. She also says that this club plans to do a canned food drive, where they collect canned goods and other non-perishable food items to donate to those in need.

Samantha Sandoval is the Vice President of SEIA, representing them during Club Rush. Sandoval says that they help students get community hours and help our community. She stated that they do things like hold drives, create cards, and more, all while helping students get their community service hours!

Dylan Gaddi is a Club Member for SOAR Robotics, representing them during Club Rush. Gaddi states that they make robots and participate in competitions with other schools. He says something beneficial they do is interact with other school clubs and the community. Additionally, within their club, they make sure that everyone is involved, has an important role, and has a voice in the club.

Christina Martinez is the Media Manager of Animal Environmental Club, representing them during Club Rush. Martinez says that they create opportunities for students who are interested in caretaking for animals or environmental agriculture. She says that they want to help students who may be interested in more environmental fields, who may not feel that their interest is best represented on campus.

Clubs offer a lot of benefits that can help you and the community. Joining clubs can be an opportunity to explore new interests, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships. Clubs can give students a sense of belonging and a chance to contribute to the community through creative projects, community service, and leadership roles. By participating, not only can students make their own high school experience better, but they can also help contribute to our school community, or even beyond! There are many clubs offered here at SOAR, beyond the ones covered during Club Rush. Check the SOAR Stars Google Classroom or look around campus for posters and flyers for information and attend club meetings to get a glimpse of what the club does and how it runs.
